Korn have announced that they are to go on “hiatus” fuelling speculation that the nu-metal heroes are going to split-up much like pop punkers Blink 182 did in February 2005.

“We’ve been going 15 years and we need to just chill out for a while,” says frontman Jonathan Davis. “We just need to recharge our batteries and get hungry again.”

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel because the band insist they will reconvene and begin writing for material for the follow-up to 2007′s Untitled at some point next year.
